Installer aMSN sur Ubuntu avec Synaptic
Synaptic est le gestionnaire de paquets graphiques d’Ubuntu. Il permet d’installer et de désinstaller tous les logiciels disponibles pour votre distribution. Ces derniers doivent être dans des dépôts dont votre système doit connaître l’adresse. Dans un tutoriel ultérieur, nous verrons comment ajouter des adresses de ces dépôts. Mais avant cela, nous allons nous exercer à installer un logiciel en utilisant Synaptic. Pour notre premier exemple, j’ai choisi le logiciel de messagerie instantanée que l’on ne présente plus : aMSN !L’application Synaptic se trouve dans Système -> Administration -> Gestionnaire de paquets Synaptic.
Synaptic permet d’agir directement sur le système, de ce fait, l’utiliser requiert un niveau de privilèges supérieur. Vous devez donc entrer votre mot de passe afin de confirmer que vous êtes autorisé à ajouter ou supprimer des logiciels.
Synaptic s’ouvre alors. L’application ne paye pas de mine, mais vous verrez assez rapidement qu’elle est assez simple à utiliser et surtout particulièrement efficace ! Dans le champ « Recherche rapide », saisissez le nom de l’application que vous souhaitez installer. Dans notre exemple, il s’agit toujours d’ »aMSN ». Automatiquement, la liste des paquets qui se trouve juste en dessous se met à jour.
Faites un clic-droit sur le paquet qui vous intéresse et choisissez « Sélectionner pour installation ».
Je vous parlais de l’efficacité de Synaptic, vous aller pouvoir la constater dès maintenant. En fait, lorsque vous installez un logiciel quelconque, il faut souvent une plétore d’autres fichiers, bibliothèques et autres qui permettent son bon fonctionnement. Plutôt que de vous casser la tête à aller rechercher sur le net ces paquets (que l’on appelle des dépendances), Synaptic vous propose de les télécharger et de les installer pour vous. Il faudrait être fou pour refuser non ?
Hop ! Tous les paquets nécessaires ont été automatiquement sélectionnés ! Sympa non ? Contentez vous maintenant de cliquer sur le bouton « Appliquer » dans la barre du haut.
Une dernière petite vérification de la liste des paquets à installer, il ne manque plus que votre ultime confirmation.
Et c’est parti ! Le système télécharge d’abord tous les paquets dont il va avoir besoin… puis les installe.
Lorsque c’est terminé, vous êtes prévenu et n’avez plus qu’à fermer la fenêtre d’installation.
Quittez Synaptic.
aMSN est désormais présent dans vos applications ! Magique n’est-ce pas ?
Voilà ! Vous avez installé aMSN sous Ubuntu en utilisant Synaptic. Généralement, les applications les plus courantes s’installent ainsi. Si cela ne fonctionne pas, c’est qu’il manque un dépôt ou qu’il faut procéder autrement pour pouvoir arriver au terme de l’installation, mais tout cela sera l’objet d’autres tutoriaux. A bientôt
